I am running an Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 with 4 MB of CPU cache. This is listed as "2 X 2048 KiB L2 Cache" in Core Temp. But in the Messages tab for BOINC Manager (6.10.58 under Win7 64-bit), it is listed as "Processor: 2.00 MB cache".

For my other rig with an E8400 dual-core, the full 6 MB of cache is shown in Messages.

Is this OK?

Yeah, it's probably Intel doing something different on where they store the information. Or they store the L2 cache information per 2MB segment. It's not a change that the developers of BOINC can constantly keep up with.

At present, the detection code is at lines 878-888 in hostinfo_win.cpp.
