Trying to load 6.10.58 on my computer not only resulted in a loading error it also removed my boinc.dll file so my older version can't run.

The error on loading was 1706, "Not a valid installation . . . .

i have an HP Pavillion running Windows 7 Pro with 8 megs of memory.

See the options in this FAQ to repair this problem. It's due to a corrupt or no longer available BOINC.MSI file from the last installation.

running Windows 7 Pro with 8 megs of memory.

Gigs I hope... :)

Success. After doing step 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 5 again, I got 6.10.58 installed and running. And yes, it is Gigs instead of Mega.
