HI all,

I have a problem with BOINC Manager which doesn't make the project switching as requested im my preferences (60 minutes). The problem sterted 2 or 3 days ago, after my modification to the "Connect to network about every" value.

As anyone an idea of what is happening?

Thank you in advance.

Check your messages tab for something like: Computer is overcommitted.

do you see that?

There is two modes boinc runs in: RR (round robin), and EDF (earliest deadline first). As long as the scheduler doesn't suspect (via different criterion) that it's possible a deadline will be missed,it will run in RR. If it suspects a deadline might possibly be missed, it'll run in EDF. Some view EDF as a "fault" mode, but it's not. It's just another way to do the work.

In RR it'll switch between projects as defined by its programming. In EDF it'll do them by Deadline date. Either way it'll follow your requested resource share. It just takes longer to balance in EDF.

Please look up EDF, Round Robin, and Work Fetch in the wiki. See link above my signature.

hope this helps
