Windows 7 x64 Install w/ Latest BOINC Manager 6.10.43. Installed on an intel D510MO system (Atom D510 dual core) using the latest GMA3150 drivers off of intel's website.

The S@H workunits are downloading and processing (up to about 3% now) but in the advanced view if I click on the tasks page and then one of the jobs, and then select "Show Graphics" I get a window "setiathome_enhanced version 6.03 [workunit info]" and it is black/blank/empty.

I've attempted to disable any processor scheduling / idletime / other limitations for troubleshooting but nothing made a difference. I have tried with hyperthreading enabled and disabled. (I did a complete format/fresh reinstall of the system and have the same results. )

In the simple view I get a preview graphic and if I click the graphics available area I get the same black screen.

I know the graphics are not important to the science part of this, but I would like to test out my system and this is the only thing (So far) not working.

I haven't tried any of the other projects, I'm not really interested at this time but if it'll help with troubleshooting I'll give it a go.

Does your computer have a Nvidia GPU installed and, if yes, are you using it to work for SETI? If yes, that would explain your "problem". If the application name of which you are trying to show the graphics has a "6.09" in the name (Application column in Tasks tab), then there is just no graphics application associated.

GMA3150 is the Graphics Chip, so it shouldn't have a Cuda GPU as well.

I've just got myself a new Netbook with an Atom N450 dual core, and a GMA3150, and i attached it to Seti yesterday, I'm using Lunatic's optimised apps on it, so no screen saver,
When i manage to get an internet connection, I'll attach it to Seti Beta and try the screensaver there instead.

I checked earlier and saw that the GMA3150 has OpenGL 1.5 capability under Windows 7 (OpenGL 2.0 under Linux). What I didn't find in the description of the drivers is if they also enable the OpenGL. But that's easily tested...

Please get Furmark, this is an OpenGL benchmark program for the videocard/chip. If you can run that (perhaps slowly), the OpenGL drivers are installed.

Do also make sure that your DirectX is fully updated.

I tried running Furmark 1.8.0 on my Notebook, but it came up with an error saying it requires an OpenGL 2.0 compliant Graphics controller,
but i haven't updated it's drivers yet.

As I posted earlier, according to the Intel site, the GMA3150 is only OpenGL 1.5 capable in Windows. So then Furmark won't work. Sorry, I missed that.

Instead try GLView, which by itself will detect what the OpenGL capabilities are, show you what drivers are installed and contains a benchmark test.

I installed the GLViewer and it confirms that it's not fully 2.0 compliant. The only 2.0 extension it lists as supported is "GL_EXT_stencil_two_side". It would have been nice if there was a text display message indicating that it's not supported or incompatible. I appreciate the information, perhaps intel will release drivers with 2.0 capabilities... but I doubt it based on the product positioning.

What is the maximum OpenGL that GLView says your system is capable of? By maximum, I mean all that's supported, not just one or two options available.

OpenGL 1.5? Then that means that you do have OpenGL drivers installed and it's something else that is blocking your option to view the graphics.

In that case, how many monitors do you have attached, or are you using a dual-monitor (or monitor + TV) set-up? Are you trying to watch the graphics on the first monitor / laptop screen?

I tried the Boinc / Seti Beta project's Seti_enhanced screensaver on my Atom N450 / GMA3150 Netbook, and it worked fine,
I've since updated the drivers to the latest version, and have the Astropulse Screensaver working at this moment,
Make sure the Screensaver is set to BOINC, and not Blank, not that i'll make a difference with the Show Graphics button.

Edit: OpenGL Entensions Viewer 3.20 lists my GMA3150 as being fully 1.4 compliant,
66% compliant for 1.5 (GL_ARB_occusion_query not supported),
and only 10% supported for 2.0 (only support is for GL_EXT_stencil_two_side)

OK, the graphics at Seti are OpenGL 1.1
The code that BOINC uses to render the graphics window is also OpenGL 1.1
