Frequent "Download failed" (checksum errors)

Jazzop Send message Joined: 19 Dec 06 Posts: 90	Message 31905 - Posted: 2 Apr 2010, 4:04:50 UTC I have three computers on the same network that all experience very frequent (>80% rate) failures when downloading WUs (on all projects). The reason for the failure is a checksum error. All three machines are Windows XP (x86), running various versions of BOINC >= 6.10.18. I suspect the problem has something to do with the network. This is an office network that has a filter called St. Bernard iPrism that restricts certain websites. Is it possible that the filter is interfering with the download? If so, why do some WUs get through okay? If not, is there something I can do to determine the cause of these errors? ID: 31905 ·

Okay, so much for my theory that picture files might be involved ;-) In that case I would have suggested to enable the "Skip image file verification" preference. But perhaps it's worth a try anyway.
