Maybe some already know this.

If you have a Facebook page, and type in the URL for a project, Facebook will pick up the link, with maybe even a thumbnail picture. You can write a brief message promoting a project and try to get your non-cruncher "friends" interested.

Very good suggestion. I really did not know about that.

Thanks, my friend!

In case you have not heard GridRepublic Intel and the BOINC team worked on creating the Progress Thru Processors application and Fan Page to let people learn AND join via Facebook.

You can find the site at http://www.facebook.com/progressthruprocessors

Progress Thru Processors highlights three projects currently, but all projects available through GridRepublic can be joined and managed through the application. The Progress Thru Processors distributes a custom BOINC install to streamline joining for new users.

Current BOINC members can display their stats via the application by creating an account and linking to their BOINC account.

I have been volunteering with GridRepublic and the Progress Thru Processors project and the more BOINC community behind GridRepublic's efforts the faster we can accomplish making volunteer computing more mainstream.

Help is needed in creating content on the GridRepublic site in the community section. Check it out. http://www.gridrepublic.org/community

GridRepublic is a 501(3)(c) nonprofit.
