I just upgraded to the latest Boinc for Mac and now Boinc wants me to add myself to the boinc_master user group. I have no idea how to do that. My account is the admin account.

Can someone help me please.

Please upgrade to BOINC 6.10.21 which has fixes for this problem. I am pointing to the general download map, as I don't know which of the 2 versions you use, apple-darwin or OSX.
