I started getting errors today. I realized I hadn't updated in a long time, so I figured that might be the problem. I think I was still running 6.2.something and I thought that might be the problem. The error message changed after I updated, but it's still the same problem. I was getting a "curlEasy" error before. Now it's HTTP.

Clearly I'm on the internet, but I'm at work so it's possible that they changed the firewall settings. Is there any way to check this? Since none of my 4 projects can connect, I figure it's a boinc problem rather than a project specific problem.

I'm running a Mac Mini 2GHz, 10.5.8

It's a firewall block. You can't even download the master file, so you'll have to ask the IT department what changed... that is, if you ran BOINC with their permission.
