I've got a challenge on my system, which is a WinXP x64 Pro, E8400 Dual Core and ATI 4850 with Catalyst 9.9 x64 drivers (If you need more info, I'll be happy to supply them).

I'm running MilkyWay for some time now on my ATI. Had this issue, but worked around it.

Upgraded to Boinc 6.10 because of the ATI compatibility and connected to Collatz (MW is down).

Boinc Manager Identified my ATI OK, downloaded x64 version for collatz, downloaded WU's and started crunching. Errors on all units.

So I downloaded the adapted version for Collatz, same thing. Downloaded 32-bit version and it works. Only as anonymous platform.
I had a simular issue with MW, also only works in 32-bit version.

Must be the Video drivers then. Reinstalled Catalyst 9.9 (After thorough cleanup on all ATI elements), it seems it doesn't install the aticalrt64.dll, aticaldd64.dll and aticalcl64.dll

I can off coarse run Collatz in 32-bit modus, but I am baffled.

Does anybody have any bright ideas?

What does it matter what the program is made for, in the end you're doing the calculations on your GPU which doesn't care whether the initial program is 32bit or 64bit.

AFAIK, Milkyway has always needed the anonymous platform to run the program. Collatz, I don't know.

Jord,

It doesn't matter for the results, it only matters for updates on the software. As a project updates their software, I don't want to manually update it on every client, if this could be done automagically. :)

I know 6.10 is not the official stable release. Allthough I appreciate you responding on my post, I didn't (intend to) state that is was a problem with BOINC or one of the applications on it. I resent the way you presume to know what I expect from BOINC and/or the projects. I don't like to be flamed.

I just wondered if anybody had some bright idea's. I may well have missed the obvious... And so I did...

I found my problem: I renamed the files using a 32bit filemanager on a 64bit system. Once I did the renaming using Windows own explorer, all was well.

You're right, of course. I edited my original post. My apologies.
