BOINC 6.6.31 x64
OS Windows 7 RC x64
host Lenovo 3000 V200 notebook, 1GB RAM, T2330 dual CPU

Also, BOINC hinders considerably Age of Empires III initial screen (and game itself of course).

BOINC installed as service, disabling boinc service restores performance.

It's first time I see so strong disturbance on other programs from BOINC.
Please, note, no GPU apps running, only CPU based SETI MB with usual idle priority.

The single pecularity of this setup is non 100% of time boinc allowed to run (Lenovo has poor design that prevents 100% CPU load for long time, host just switched off).

Any ideas? Could it be connected with Windows 7 OS, or particular BOINC version?

I had to stop BOINC completely to watch movie, it's very sad indeed...

I looked really hard on google to find out how to use cc_config.xml to force pausing. A search of "cc_config.xml" and pause brings up only this thread. I just can't figure it out. Could someone give me an example of how to do this or link me up?

I think there is a rule that says you won't find the answer until you give up. Hopefully this link will be helpful to people. http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=3934#25003

I also discovered that many BOINC users prefer the term suspend over pause.

I made the link active and found this one when typing "cc_config" at the BOINC wiki.
