so today i wanted to pause Boinc because everything was going a little slow. I push pause, but it didnt help. I checked out the ctrl+alt+delete-menu, and was puzzled that multiple Bioncapplications and relations were still running, even when i shut of the program..

what part of "pause" or "shut down" is it Boinc doesnt get?

It is sorted after memoryusage.

just seems high that a program uses 200.000+ KB when it is paused/inactive and also when shut down :S

What Sekerob said was that the CPU column shows none of the applications taking any CPU (well, bar Seti with 2%). Which indicates that everything suspended correctly.

As for why they stay in memory, you must have got the option "Leave applications in memory" on in either your web-preferences or local preferences. When you do not have that option on, the applications will not stay in memory when you suspend BOINC or suspend the individual projects or tasks.
