I installed 6.4.7 in protected service mode under Vista 32, and have subsequently added a more capable video card which is CUDA enabled. I get the "No CUDA devices found" message (because I installed under Vista in protected service mode!).

If I uninstall BOINC and re-install it with the protected service mode disabled, will I lose the work units "in progress"?

Is there any way of installing in protected service mode that works with CUDA (under Vista)? I would like the machine to be busy whilst I am logged off!

TIA.

To partially answer my own question, in case anyone else picks this up. The work units are saved even after an uninstall and a fresh install picks them up just fine. I cannot find anything online that suggests that CUDA will work under Vista in protected mode.

Apparently Nvidia has posted a fix, if this post is correct.

Volunteers needed to test it and report back. :)
