On my computer,
Advanced > Preferences > Processor usage … “While computer is in use” is ticked

BUT Messages shows ...
3/24/2009 8:56:48 AM||Suspending computation - no recent user activity
3/24/2009 11:41:42 AM||Resuming computation

Question, how do I get BOINC to run continuously?

Tks. David

This option also appears on the project's preferences.
And just below it is: Suspend work if no mouse/keyboard activity in last

This one needs to be blank for continuous running.

Tks for that. The only prob is I can't find my prefs files. Running Micros**t WIN2000 and BOINC 6.4.7 - Search doesn't find cc_config.xml or global_prefs_override.xml. And I have no "Application Data"folder. How do I find the prefs files (saw this on a post somewhere, but can't find that post)

Tks.

With BOINC 6.4.7 you have a data folder, but it's hidden. The exact location is mentioned in the messages tab after a restart of the BOINC Client (not the Manager).

The file cc_config.xml file is not there by default, you have to create one, but the global_prefs_override.xml file should be existent, since you have set local preferences.

Gondolf, many thanks. Actually, I got around the problem by uninstalling / re-installing BOINC, chosing Advanced" and putting the data where I could find it (D:BOINC_data) - and now I can see the global_prefs_override.xml - it is not hidden - and have added the suggested line to sto suspension of tasks when the m/c is idle.

All's well that ends well. Now who said that?
