Message 23735 - Posted: 16 Mar 2009, 15:55:43 UTC

I may have put the original message in the incorrect location - Sorry,

My question is:

Using this page Client Configuration Page

and this general format:
<cc_config>
<log_flags>
<cpu_sched>1</cpu_sched>
</log_flags>
</cc_config>

I get the message on startup:
Sun Mar 15 16:27:37 2009 Missing start tag in cc_config.xml

What am I missing. I know is is probably simple, but I am drawing a blank. I am using a plain TextEdit program to create the file and saving as plain text with an .xml extension

Using Boinc 6.6.15

Thanks

You put the question in the correct place first time around. If it hadn't been, I'd have moved it.

Do you have any other clear text editors aside from TextEdit that you can use? Which OS are you on?

OS: Mac OS X 10.5.6 (Darwin 9.6.0)

As to text editors: Several such as TextEdit and Word 2008 (saving as plain text file). I have used them all in saving the file and the end result is the same.

I am fairly confident that the text editor is not the issue. If I knew what would trip the no "start tag" message, I probably could work it out.

Thanks for the help.

I don't see anything wrong with the entries, so what if you just copy them from your post and add them to your cc_config.xml in the place of what is there, then save the thing and restart BOINC?
