I'm trying to join Enigma@Home. Yet anytime I try to join the project I get:

3/8/2009 12:41:22 AM|Enigma@Home|Sending scheduler request: Project initialization. Requesting 1 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks
3/8/2009 12:43:34 AM||Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site
3/8/2009 12:43:35 AM||Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down.
3/8/2009 12:43:37 AM|Enigma@Home|Scheduler request failed: Server returned nothing (no headers, no data)

But if I look at my tasks: http://www.enigmaathome.net/results.php?userid=4783

It says that I detached but I haven't detached. The BOINC client is detaching itself. Any ideas?

Are you using an account manager like BOINCStats/BAM! or GridRepublic?

If so, you need to attach via account manager, otherwise you'll get detached when your host connects to the account manager.

Message 23538 - Posted: 8 Mar 2009, 12:47:32 UTC - in response to Message 23535.

Which BOINC version?
How did you install it? (Protected application execution mode (aka Windows service) or other?)
Did you allow BOINC to pass through your firewall, on port 80?
If you're using a proxy, did you tell BOINC about it?

Can you restart BOINC, then attach to Enigma, then post all the start-up messages please?

But Enigma@Home has assigned my computer an ID.

Looks like they are having network problems...

Well, they aren't as then everyone, me included, should have these problems. And I sure don't:

10-Mar-09 07:59:25 Enigma@Home [sched_op_debug] CPU work request: 3291.56 seconds; 0 idle CPUs
10-Mar-09 07:59:30 Enigma@Home Scheduler request completed: got 1 new tasks
10-Mar-09 07:59:30 Enigma@Home [sched_op_debug] Server version 603
10-Mar-09 07:59:30 Enigma@Home Project requested delay of 242 seconds
10-Mar-09 07:59:30 Enigma@Home [sched_op_debug] estimated total CPU job duration: 6932 seconds
10-Mar-09 07:59:30 Enigma@Home [sched_op_debug] Deferring communication for 4 min 2 sec
10-Mar-09 07:59:30 Enigma@Home [sched_op_debug] Reason: requested by project

Now, the part of "Failure when receiving data from the peer" is similar to the error of "Failed sending data to the peer". These are libCurl errors, which handles communications in BOINC.

You will see them if you are blocking non-HTTP traffic on TCP port 80 and 443, either by not allowing BOINC through your software firewall, or not specifying that non-HTTP traffic can occur through your hardware firewall.

Nope, my firewall isn't blocking any traffic.

Check with your ISP.

As TJM said in the thread at Enigma already, the server is housed in Poland and uses a proxy in the USA (Sonic.net). Perhaps that your ISP is blocking either of them.
