Message 23480 - Posted: 5 Mar 2009, 17:46:43 UTC

I am having trouble uninstalling and reinstalling the BOINC Manager. I cannot do so using the Windows Installer, Program Uninstall, or Windows Install Clean up. Any suggestions?

What, if any, are the (error) messages that you get?
Which Windows?
Which BOINC version?
What are you trying to do?

The message says that Windows Installer cannot locate boinc.msi.

Windows Vista.

The most recent version.

I want to uninstall and reinstall so that, when and if I want to I can uninstall againt. Right now the uninstall does not work.

Try the other options in this FAQ, especially reinstalling the old version that you are trying to uninstall. You have a corrupt or missing MSI file, reinstalling the old version should fix that.

You should install the old version, not uninstall!

I have added an Advanced users section to that FAQ I pointed to that will deal with deleting BOINC manually, including in the registry. If you feel up to it, try to use it.
