I'm using the 6.6.7 BOINC and have 4 projects:

50% CPDN
20% WCG
20% QAH
10% Sudoku

So far cpdn was running all the time using one core while the other projects took rounds on the second core. That's how it was supposed to work according to the percentages.

But lately CPDN started getting another work unit and running two tasks simultaneously and suspended the other tasks.

By doing so CPDN on the whole gets more than 50% of the ressources. So I guess that's kind of a bug.

Is there any way to prevent this behaviour?

This did also happen with older versions.

So you say it's cpdn's fault? But is that possible? After all BOINC fetches new work and is responsible for ressource sharing.

So I think BOINC should take care that CPDN only uses 50% of the two cores (i.e. one core) and not both.

You're right though, I set cpdn to not get new work, but that's a little annoying and shouldn't be necessary. But who's to blame? If it's really cpdn I will ask at their forum, but I still think BOINC has a kind of bug here.

edit:
I just noticed this happens when two projects (wcg and sudoku) didn't send new work. For some reason BOINC then decides to fetch new work for cpdn, interrupts qah and runs two work units for cpdn.

That doesn't sound right... :)
