I just installed BOINC today to run SETI, but it turns out if I don't manually shut it down as soon as it automatically starts up, my computer just... turns off. No error message, no warning, just off. I tried just shutting down the Manager and letting SETI keep going, but it turned off again anyway.

I'm running 32-bit Windows Vista Home Premium with DirectX 10 on an NVIDIA motherboard with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and an NVIDIA 8800GTX graphics card.

Any thoughts?

Heat maybe? Did you clean out your CPU's heat sink and fan any time lately? Seti will put your CPU under quite a bit of load, so any heat related problems may shut your PC down.

Anything showing in Event Viewer?
