System (vista 64, 9800gtx+) is hanging on bootup to where it can take up to 2 - 2.5 minutes before boinc appears. I rarely reboot so there is no telling how long something has been amiss.

I checked the event log and bionc is reporting another boinc exists:
The description for Event ID 1 from source BOINC cannot be found.
Either the component that raises this event is not
installed on your local computer or the installation
is corrupted. You can install or repair the component
on the local computer. If the event originated on
another computer, the display information had to be
saved with the event. The following information was
included with the event:
BOINC error: 183
Another instance of BOINC is running

I do not see two boinc icons nor do I see two boinc tasks running. The system seems to be running fine and boinc is doing fine also.

I did see where McAfee timed out and possibly that could be the slow boot.

Should I uninstall 6.5.0 and then reinstall? Before I got my 9800gtx+ I was running boinc as a service but that got uninstalled. Not sure why the OS sees another boinc when it boots up (actually, when I log in since it is not a service)

Try looking at Microsoft "Autoruns" utility to see where the conflict is occurring.
