I have been running BOINC for some years and have been running the climateprediction work for many months. I'm running Vista, full patched. I came back to a machine which had rebooted itself yesterday and now, although I can start BOINC, I get a dialogue box come up which reads: forrtl: severe (38): error during write, unit 8, file C:\ProgramData\BOINC\projects\climateprediction.net\hadcm3ivolc_12y4_2000_80_66001928\tmp\pipe_dummy Image PC Routine Line Source hadcm3trans_um_6. 007248B2 Unknown Unknown Unknown Stack trace terminated abnormally. There is an OK button and if I click on that it disappears for about 2 seconds and then reappears and that is an infinite loop apparently. The only way to kill it is to kill the application. If any of you have any ideas I would be most grateful! Thanks in advance. |

It's not a BOINC problem as BOINC doesn't use Fortran in any way. This is a ClimatePrediction error and so is best reported and asked about on the CPDN forums. |

And the first thing to do on the cpdn forums, is to use the Search facility (Advanced; 1 year) to look for all of the previous posts about this problem. |

switch to another project if no one taking your problem seriously. you do have choice which project to contribute after all. i too am having problem but decide to ditch climateprediction after searched similar post. it seems developers can't be bothered on code issues brought onto my 4 computers having boinc running climateprediction code. that'll be their lost, not mine. |
