Hi,

I just upgraded to BOINC v6.2.19 (from 5.x), in the hope that it would solve my connection problems, but alas it's not the case. As far as I can tell, the problem is that BOINC only allows configuring a proxy server for all transfer protocols, that is, both for HTTP in port 80 and HTTPS in port 443. In my network, I'm required to use a proxy server for HTTP connections, but required NOT to use it for HTTPS connections.

Can anyone confirm that the above is something that would need to be fixed in BOINC? Or any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Been using 6.4.6 and the problem remains: need to be able to configure proxy server separately for HTTP and HTTPS. Communication with WCG uses both non-secure (port 80) and secure (443) connections. For me, an additional checkbox saying "Use proxy for SSL connections" would be perfect (I would uncheck it...).

Alternatively (on Win XP anyway) just having "Use system proxy configuration" would bypass any problems, as the system proxy can be set differently for HTTP and secure connections.

Could anyone confirm as this being worked on? Thanks.
