6.2.18 non-service
6.2.19 service
2 different computers
XP SP3 32bit

No matter what I put the settings at, web based or override it refused to do work if the computer isn't being used.

Usually 3 minutes (but sometimes a randoml amount of time) after I stop using the computer Boinc suspends all activity until I touch the mouse or keyboard again. Nearly 11 minutes after I stopped touching the computer it suspended itself in the images.

I have yet to see an option that says "Only process tasks when I'm using the computer"...

I personally don't care if it runs all the time as I can always manually suspend when I want to run a game or something, but Boinc doesn't respect the "Run Always" or the "While Computer is in use" settings. Actually the only settings it does respect are the network, drive, and memory settings. It doesn't seem to even care about the cpu settings at all.

I have been checking settings all day long and have yet to find a combination of settings that will allow Boinc to run all the time without suspending if I'm not at the computer.

I would like to get more work done but Boinc isn't cooperating.

Oh, and the installer has never migrated the data to the new folder... I have to do that manually for both of the above versions.

You should be looking for the option that says:

Suspend work if no mouse/keyboard activity in last
(Needed to enter low-power mode on some computers)
Enforced by version 5.10.14+

And there's also this:
Suspend work while computer is in use?

just above it.

What folder did you tell it to go to then?

"Stop work after computer is idle for: xx minutes"

Just found that option in the World Community Grid project...

SO, how many minutes is FOREVER? so it will run FOREVER, 999999 fits so I'll go with that.
Because that single option is causing my system to suspend everything(ALL projects, not just the WCG). None of the other projects I'm running have that option on the web based preferences and it seems that the overrides don't actually override anything or at least don't include ALL of the possible options -- the one above isn't in the boinc manager override preferences pages.

Guess I'll see if that option works now.

As for the folder migration, it doesn't matter what folder, it wont move the projects or anything anywhere, to any drive, or folder on those drives, etc. I also have to attach to the projects as it seems that the update can't migrate that information either.

I have the exact same problem, just running SETI. Win Box Duo Core, 2 gb memory, WinXP SP2. Computation will run for about 3 minutes and something suspends computation and will not start again. I have tried many different settings and exiting programs in memory. Nothing seems to stop the suspension. Computation is without graphics.

Did you read this exact same thread? As Les Bayliss asked before: what is the setting of
Suspend work if no mouse/keyboard activity in last
(Needed to enter low-power mode on some computers)
Enforced by version 5.10.14+
in your online preferences?

Gruß,
Gundolf

[edit] added link to SETI preferences [/edit]
