I 'upgraded' a Vista 64b client to boinc 6.2.18 and now it only runs when the boincmgr is running. That is, the boinc service is no longer running.

Please advise how I get back to a service only, no graphics, mode of operations. The install wizard didn't give me an option, and I have now installed it twice.

The Protected application execution mode is the service install. See How to install BOINC as a service (BOINC 6 series) on Windows?

It appears that I bounced right through and failed to recognize the 'advanced' button, assuming that the installer would carry over my existing configuration.

When I re-installed from the web page, or 'repaired' it from the control panel, no 'advanced' button appeared.

I then uninstalled and installed again. That worked and didn't loose my client files.

Obviously I should have gone more slowly, but I think some child-proofing of the installer is in order.

What do you want? A flashing bouncy Advanced button? ;-)

Search for Bob's House on Google Maps for directions how to get here.

You probably don't know for sure, but someone else who reads this might know.
Which one?
Bob's House (1)?
Bob's House (2)?
