Folks,

Has anyone run across a spyware app. tripping over the BOINC tasks? I have MaxSecure and their product flags most stuff in the BOINC folder as a ROOTKIT threat. See example:

Threat Type Threat

FILE K:\BOINC\SLOTS\2\odday0a.U}

or

K:\BOINC\SLOTS\2\<insert weird type font here>

This started when they integrated a major engine upgrade and they are aware of this issue. Any assistance, or insight, anyone has in this area would be greatly appreciated.

Bill

You better report this at the project(s) whose files are being flagged as spyware. It's not really a BOINC issue.

Contact MaxSecure to report the false positives, sending them the files so they can fix their engine/database.

(NOTE: you probably shouldn't send the files without first agreeing with them to do so. Sending attachments on your first message would very probably get it deleted unread.)
