Uninstall before upgrading BOINC?

I received a notification in BOINC Manager that a new version is available. I will be upgrading from version 7.16.11 (x64) to 7.24.1 on Windows 10. Do I need to uninstall the old version of BOINC Manager before installing the new version?

I've downloaded the new version but I couldn't tell if the setup program would install atop the old BOINC Manager and update the software, or if it would install another instance of the program. Apologies for the novice question.

No need to uninstall the old version. The only time you need to do that is when something goes pear shaped.
