Some time ago I cam back to BOINC after years away, installed, attached, and then totally screwed up my installation.

I don't remember exactly what I did, maybe installed BOINC, detached from the projects and re-attached. Seven projects running just fine, four have reported results, a fifth has no results but right now has all processors and will report shortly.

The secret? Just don't touch anything. Whatever the defaults are, they are not as bad as the damage I caused by trying to make changes.

Glad to be back.

Oh!! I was not idle, I installed folding@home which I am keeping.
