Message 106734 - Posted: 9 Jan 2022, 19:52:25 UTC

Greetings,
I've been running Boinc for quite sometime but recently started getting the above notice on my M1 Mini and it looks like Rosetta is no longer running any tasks. I've tried to manually install Virtualbox from Oracle but I get an error saying that the platform isn't supported.. I've also attempted to re-install Boinc but still getting the error. Any thoughts?
Mac OS 12.1
Thanks,
Dan

Found this on an apple forum

Oracle has not released a version of VirtualBox compatible with M1 devices. Parallels Desktop 17 (subscription) is compatible with Big Sur on M1 devices, but the guest operating system must be compiled for Apple Silicon ARM, as X86_64 operating systems are not supported.

Rosetta has run out of the 4.20 tasks that run in native mode and the only tasks that they are pumping out at the moment are Python tasks that require VirtualBox. The message is there to tell you why it will not download Python tasks.

The amount of problems that the Python tasks are giving it is probably a good thing that you can’t run them :-)
