boinc_7.16.20_windows_x86_64_vbox
It does not use the second CPU on Dualboards (definitively)

boinc_7.16.20_windows_x86_64
it does use the second CPU, but does not use all cores,
CPU performance 66%-85% with 160 CPUs (160 tasks wcgridopen1_autodock_7.17 + 4 tpsieveCUDA_0.2.3b)
the first core of the second cpu will never be used, others still partielly.
The Memory of 64GB will still be used with 38%
With the former BOINC version I run with the same configuration 100% workload and memory use of ~75%

Machine: 2x XEON 20Core 40 threads, 64GB DDR4,3200 Reg ServerMemory
Systeminformation shows:
Topology
Cores 40
Sockets 2
Logical Processors 80
OS W10 20H2 Build 19042.1288
--------------------------

The newest BOINC version has a problem

the former BOINC version
Which was which version? I ask because the only difference I know of between 7.16.16 and 7.16.20 is the new ca-bundle.crt file, nothing else client- or manager wise has changed.

Btw, images require a .jpg, .png or .bmp extension.
You can use your URL as just a linked image.

Hi Jord,
in Version 7.16.19 I deleted the wrong CRT part sucessful because I used collatz. As I had done it BOINC runs for some days with 160 CPUs with nearly100 % CPU usage, it goes a little up and down, but after two days BOINC hung up and started wihin 15 min 3 times new(showed a message), but this did not help, Boinc was frozen, it was not able to close BOINC. I run STRg + Alt+ Delete to shut down the machine. Then I switched Power off.
After this I looked up onto BOINC Website and tried BOINC 7.16.20 at first with the VBox Version, but it did not use the second CPU on a Dual Board.
I installed BOINC 7.16.20(boinc_7.16.20_windows_x86_64) with config simulate 160 CPUs, as I had before. Now cpu usage was 60- 70%.
It is a mistery why I can not reach 100% of CPU usage.
If I dont use config simulate, CPU usage ist still 50% or slower (no idea why)
now I use config simulate 190 CPUs, but CPU usage is still 60% it goes up and down from 50% to 70%
I have no idea why this all happened on my new Server V80-Xeon1 (activated on 1. of Juli 2021) running 24/7 (Covid-19 still CPU work)
My old server V8-Xeon, with two quadcore Xeon E5405 runs always with 100% CPU usage 24/7
the servers are open under my account you can see it.
If you need some more infos let me know.
thanks.

Bit of a long shot but in cc_config.xml what value do you have for <ncpus>n</ncpus>? Just wondering if this could be set to 1 instead of 2 for some obscure reason?

(one of those files in BOINC program folder I always back up before fiddling with.)

Message 105952 - Posted: 3 Nov 2021, 9:20:52 UTC - in response to Message 105809.

The vbox version produces driver error on Dualboard Jingsha X99 Chipset.
If I use BOINC without vbox both CPUs are working now with 100 %, I must use config simulate 190 CPUS
with this configuration the machine run 480-500 Wus /24h from marking Cancer project.
Thanks
