I currently am in two projects. For one I have several completed tasks and the other one has stopped getting new tasks. If I try to update them I get the communication attempt and then a "communication deferred" with a time after it. I do have it set to only use the internet at certain times and this occurs when it should be updating on its own.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure which version of BOINC I'm using but it is probably the latest, and am running this on Windows 10. I do have a satellite connection but this was not an issue prior to a week or so ago. I could just let it run and rarely had to check on it.

All projects have a backoff time after an update has been performed. This means that a manual update restarts the timer so hitting the update button repeatedly will stop you getting any work. With CPDN the backoff isjust over an hour. Most projects it is somewhat shorter. This mechanism is to prevent the servers getting hammered.

Thank you for the reply. The projects aren't updating even on their own if I am not manually trying to update them. They are supposed to be and have been up until recently.

One of them is more or less working now. Does anyone know if Asteroid@home is working properly? After a long time of no updates I got a few but the finished work is not being sent back and nothing new has been delivered since that one batch. when I try to update it it always goes to "communication deferred".

Asteroids has been down for a few days/weeks, and is not expected to back for a few weeks - they suffered a big hardware failure.
