Okay, I'm not even sure how to describe this. Here's what happens.
1. Open a 32-bit program and have it running. The program is visible on the screen under other programs.
2. Open a 64-bit program, like a browser. The program is on top of the first program but the other program is visible.
3. Open a few other 64-bit programs as well.
4. Wait a while, maybe half an hour or so
5. Click on the first program thinking it will come to the front, right? No, another program that is already open comes to the front instead.
6. Try ALT-TAB to tab to that first program you want to come to it. It comes to the front, but when you click anywhere within the program, another program comes up instead. Truly strange.

There are three things to do that will fix it:
1. Restart the computer (time-consuming)
2. Restart Windows (time-consuming)
3. Click on the desktop shortcut in the taskbar that takes you to the desktop and enables you to go back to that program.

At first, I thought this was a Windows problem because the problem occurred after the last Windows update. The problem was only occurring on my home machine for the past two or three months. Then, a few days ago, I installed it on my work computer, and the same problem happened. I own both machines. BOINC was not installed as a Service on either.

Thanks in advance for any help you all can give me. It's a PITA, but I'm not uninstalling BOINC on either computer. Science matters!

I'm sorry, I'm confused. What does any of this have to do with BOINC?

This problem all started after I installed BOINC. It's the only real common denominator between the two machines that both have the same problem.

Sounds like your issue is that you're losing focus of the program you want to look at. When I put "Windows 10 losing focus" into Google, I find several tens of posts with the same problem and no easy solution. I don't think all those people are running BOINC, but all those people are running Windows 10.

Your version of Windows 10 will stop receiving important quality updates soon. You can stay in support by updating to
a newer version of Windows 10. When you're ready for this update, select "Download and install .” Is there any benefits because it seems that whenever any windows update come it slow the system performance as well not know whats the reason behind this but it issues always happen.

Whether it be Linux or Windows, every few major updates I do a clean install which clears out a lot of the rubbish that slows things down. These days the only time I do it with Windows is partner's laptop. If I do a clean install on it, it always seems to speed things up and sometimes by quite a lot if it has just been getting automagical updates for a long time.
