Hopefully, The Lounge will start on New year's eve. But in the mean time, please be my guest and say hi here. Ignore Les. He's not that amiable. ;-)

I wouldn't call Kathryn a mate if you want to live much longer.

Hello stranger just doesn't sound right. Too much of a lascivious ring to it!

Can you please stop waving now, it's causing too much wind. We just had a storm yesterday, please don't try to recreate it. ;-)

How about a trade then. I'll take half of your wind if you take half of my cold air.

Um... it would appear we can get snow on Monday and Tuesday... so no thank you.
As for me breaking wind... how'd you know? You really want half? ;-)

Greetings! I am new here. Just saying hi from Oklahoma!

The website that I am building: Oklahoma City Lincoln

Well, until mid-February, it's actually one that someone else already built, but soon it will be mine.

Hey everyone! Just discovered Boinc - this is amazing. The data processing is huge!!! Congrats.
I don't know if this is the right thread - but I guess it's an introduction thread - so about me : I'm a comp sci student -and the creator of Fresh Formula 1
I was also wondering if I could have my own Boinc project.

Hi Ian.

Yes, BOINC is pretty amazing.

As far as your own project, yeah sure. The server software is open source and anyone is free to use it.

Someone else will have to give you details on how to get the code out of CVS (I've never done it). But this page might be a good place to start reading. And you might also be interested in subscribing to the email lists, especially the projects list.

Hey there Steve

Kind of a fluke i saw your post here. This board is pretty quiet and was just passing by when I noticed you. Your interests may help you to pick a project, SETI@home for Extra Terrestrial Comm., Rosetta for Cancer Research, Malariacontrol for ...... well you get the idea. All of the Projects do as much as they can to help out newcomers. I am "crunching" the previous as well as World community grid and AstropulseBeta. I think there are 30 or so active projects.

Hope this helps
See ya around.
