The other day I "snoozed" BOINC, and then restarted my computer. When it came back up, BOINC didn't auto-start, but would start manually. I tried reinstalling BOINC a couple of times, but no change. As near as I can tell, the RUN entries are present in the registry. I haven't added boincmgr to my start menu startup folder, as I'd rather figure out the problem and correct it. Thanks. |

I am not a Windows person but out of interest, does the client run at startup? Task manager should show it there if it does. |

There is an option for "Run Manager at login?" in the Options menu, 'Other options...' That is preferred over the startup folder technique, these days. |

With 'the tray icon utility' you mean boinctray.exe, right? This is the BOINC idle detection program, it doesn't run in the tray or shows an icon. BOINC Manager when started shows the icon in the system tray. The BOINC client does not. |

I wonder if Windows 10 still uses the old style 'start menu', or 'start programs'. I'm from a time where we started services from a bat file, called autoexec.bat. But if it doesn't automatically start, you should be able to modify it's setting in services (autostart service, there's even an option to delay the autostart). Haven't tried it personally, but give it a try. |
