It is that time of year when I need to avoid missing that I owe £5million in tax by making a careless error.

Just in time for the 5 day strike of the public transport next week, Monday to Friday.
Culemborg. Hmmm, that's about 80km away.

Grumble:
Catalytic converter cut of car while we were away. Looks like insurance write off or just sell for parts as the amount I am likely to get may make keeping no claims bonus a better bet.

Grumbling about the start of a 4th multii-hour outage of a single cable TV channel in less than 24 hours.

Interesting that it's only affecting customers of AT&T / DirecTV and no other providers or streaming services in the world.

Message on the official AT&T forums claim it a "external hacking/ scrambling incident blocking their reception."

Government in the budget promised to bring pre payment charge in line with direct debit customers.
So (the way it is worded), looks like a saving of £90 pa

Grumble
Took them long enough. After all, the utility companies got their money in advance - all that lovely interest they accumulate.
On a side note, took a reading of gas to complete autumn/winter spreadsheet & it is double what last years was. :-(

Not corona, but flu. And a nasty one.
I went to bed at midnight and for the next two hours shivered my temperature up to 39.6C, despite laying under two thick covers. Finally fell asleep for a bit, until inevitably I had to pee and was thirsty. So here I am, drinking tea and cup-a-soup. Everything hurts.

Even light hurts.
On my ears!
I cannot explain it, but it's really true. Certain light beams cause a banging in my ears that hurt like hell.
I hop this is over soon, although the nice thing about it is that I am losing weight like there's no tomorrow. 😂

Get well soon Jord.

Take something for the fever. Fluids. Lots of fluids. Enough you get annoyed at how often you pee.

Be careful on cup-a-soup, too much salt (although you need some). Perhaps canned (tin) is lower salt. Best is homemade if someone can get it too you.

"Take two aspirin and report in the morning."

Good luck on it being short.

Grumble:Interrail site or app lets me see the trains I want but in both Norway and Sweden doesn't let me book where reservations are required. Not because seats are sold out as their site suggests but I need to phone the train operators in the respective countries.

Glory:They speak better English than I do Norwegian or Swedish and I have made bookings.

Grumble:I have now used up all the credit on my plan for making calls.

Normally these site's telephone number is available through Whatsapp as well, as that's free. Didn't they here?

Grumble: Havilla cruises have cancelled our boat from Bergen to Trondheim. Fall out from Putin's war on Ukraine. They used Russian finance to buy two new boats. They have been unable to pay finance company due to sanctions. Looking at rebooking on one of the existing boats but will also need to change several train bookings on interrail.

Grumble but I think it has turned into the best laugh of the decade - so far. :-)
Easter week, received written notification of a repair appointment.
Reading it, thought WTF?
Called in only to get no emd of bovine excrement, so accepted it to let things escalate all on their own.
Appointment day arrives.
Received call on mobile earlier this morning.
Is this the resident of...
Yes.
Our contractors are outside, can you let them in.
Oh, sorry, I;ll do that now.
At the entry door, 1 guy says, sorry we rang the buzzer but got no reply.
Sorry about that, forgot to take privacy off, however, you could have used the trade button (works AM not PM).
But we rang the buzzer.
Anyway, can you explain why a flat needs a relay loft installation repair? It's the new laws & regulations regarding damp.
Ok come in.
....
......
.........
Wait for it....

The guy then says,,,
You gotta be joking.
Nope come in.
You got any mold on your ceilings?
Nope (Ground floor flat).
Off they go, with one guy moaning on the phone to his boss.
Another confirmation that too many in todays society do not know how to use a mk1 computer. :-(
