Grumble.
Council tax rebate of £150.
Pay by direct debit (rebate paid straight to your bank A/c)
Pay by cheque/cash/online (the council will send one a letter explaining on how to claim}
Would be much simpler to have all band A - D have the rebate shown & deducted off the bill, Right?
Too simple for the bureaucrats to comprehend!
Glory.
ROFLMAO.
The technology councils needed to pay the cash in one go to all households is coming up against issues, according to reports.
While some councils are trying to set up systems for those households who don't pay council tax via direct debit to apply for the help - because they can't get the payment automatically.
The farce getting worse.

Grumble:

Now, I won't be able to talk to my farming friends without wondering if they are using euphemisms.

Grumble: Got a security update in on my Asus Zenfone 8, allowed it to download and install. On the reboot... nothing. Bricked my phone. Cannot reboot it in any way or fashion. Great!

So watch out today with the update!

Phone's been sent to Belsimpel who in turn sent it back to Asus for repairs. It's going to take at least 10 working days for my phone to return. So 3 weeks then.
I've in the mean time bought a Samsung A12 (128GB version) to not be without a phone.

Glory: I refrained from commenting on a certain resurrected thread in Q&A.

Grumble, the T-bar in the office hallway collapsed with a very loud lengthy report taking many tiles and a light fixture.

Glory, I walked under it about two minutes before it dropped, otherwise I wouldn't be here to write this.

Is that like an RSJ? A rolled steel joist? I tried to look it up and found a pro wrestler!

Oh well, look forward to 3 months off while a health and softy report is filed.

I can view it using Tor browser but not in Chrome or Firefox. Bolt together bits for hanging ceiling panels from so a lot less meaty than an RSJ I imagine that it fell because it wasn't put together properly in the first place. That will be fun for someone checking all the bolts holding the others that were used for that ceiling.

Why on earth is Home Depot not allowing foreigners to see their products?

A couple of simple reasons:
They want to avoid being taken to the cleaners by selling stuff to people in other countries where the stuff does not meet local regulations
They don't want overseas customers to be scared off by the excessive shipping, export and import duties that the product may attract.

(The same applies to many of the other large US based "box shifters" who refuse to deliver to most of the rest of the world)

I wasn't asking them to sell things to me (although I doubt regulations in any country are more strict than the "good old sue your ass off USA"), I just wanted the page to display.

It might also make their site more responsive to people who actually do intend to buy from it.

Nay, service idiots working above the panels who took down the hanger wires to do their thing and then didn't put them back. The light fixtures also hung from said grid do weigh a fair bit more than the panels themselves and don't have soft edges.
