Message 94137 - Posted: 10 Dec 2019, 9:05:07 UTC

any advice as to how I can see the graphics for my Joytech sensor?
I see the spinning globe but the sensor graphics say in demo mode.

I know the sensor works as I can see the graphics in the QCN live interactive software but not in BOINC.

thanks,
regards,
Tim

To find your graphics card, the easiest way is to run the DirectX Diagnostic Tool: Click Start. Click Run in the Start menu. Type "dxdiag" in the Open box (without quotation marks) and click OK. Opens the Diagnostic Tool for DirectX.

thanks, does this mean I need to "point" BOINC towards my graphics card?
Or is there more to it than that?
I have tried 3 PC's (all on Windows 7) and none seem to run the full BOINC sensor graphics and indicate that the graphics are in demo mode.
It does not seem to recognise the sensor, so it a problem with recognising the sensor perhaps? (rather than the graphics card?)
However when I try QCNlive the sensor is recognised and it produces graphics.
So I guess I will stick to this .......

thanks, regards, Tim

update to my last post, it comes up with "demo mode, sensor not found" when I run BOINC,
However I know the sensor has been installed with the correct drivers and runs QCNlive.

QCN is a tricky project, because of the need for a sensor.
The program may not have kept up with BOINC changes, so the best advice would be to ask on the project's web site.
