Hi all.
I'm not able to find in which config file (if there's such) the Computing Preferences are set.

I've a linux box (in fact, two: one RaspberryPi and centOS 7) running headless OS (Raspbian Buster and CentOS 7 respectively) and I installed Boinc in there. But I couldn't find where to configure the Computing Preferences such % CPU usage, % CPU time, on/off suspend computing on both CPU & GPU when the system is in use, etcetera.

I've another linux box (mint, with cinnamon so I use X/desktop) in which I've the Boinc Manager installed but neither in that box I can find where Boinc Manager stores the configuration of Computing Preferences.

The project in which I'm attached is Seti@Home.

Thanks in advance for any help or guidance that you can share.

You. You're good you.

I was able to pull the existing global_prefs_override settings from my system that has Boinc Manager and take it as example in order to configure the boinc-client on the rpi.
I didn't want to force the ARM processor on the rpi to exceed the 60/70% of CPU usage.

Thank you very much for your help.

You do know there are aftermarket fans for the rpi available, or rhat even a small 80mm fan can do wonders?

Do know rhat the way BOINC throttles is by going full blast then pause computation. At 50% that's 5 seconds full on, 5 seconds pause.

Better is to reduce the core amount used by one, or add cooling.

I've taken care of the temperature issue (I think!). I've a 3d printed case with space for a 40x40x10 fan that I'm powering from gpio.

Currently the settings are the same that I'm use on my daily PC:
* Use at most 75% of the CPUs
* Use at most 60% of the CPU time

Current temperature for the ARM is around 54° C. So I'm happy with the configuration so far.
