Hello,
at irregular intervals my MacPro hangs up. I suspect that it has a problem with the GPU calculation of SETI. Console reports a continuous loop in any case:
Nov 3 15:55:00 Hanss-Mac-Pro systemstats[53]: assertion failed: 17G8037: systemstats + 914800 [D1E75C38-62CE-3D77-9ED3-5F6D38EF0676]: 0x40
Nov 3 15:55:01 Hanss-Mac-Pro com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.apple.DumpGPURestart): Service only ran for 2 seconds. Pushing respawn out by 8 seconds.
Nov 3 15:55:11 Hanss-Mac-Pro com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.apple.DumpGPURestart): Service only ran for 1 seconds. Pushing respawn out by 9 seconds.
Nov 3 15:55:42 --- last message repeated 2 times ---
Nov 3 15:55:42 Hanss-Mac-Pro com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.apple.DumpGPURestart): Service only ran for 1 seconds. Pushing respawn out by 9 seconds.

And this after SETI wanted to start a GPU-calculation.

Question: How can I tell Boinc not to get and calculate GPU units? Unfortunately I can't find an option.
Computer: MacPro 4.1, flashed to 5.1 / 2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon / 24 GB RAM / ATI Radeon HD 5870 1024 MB.
It greets from Switzerland
Hans

Ps: Translated with DeepL. Thanks for understanding

Log into your SETI account, then go to Preferences for this Project. You can disable GPU work there.

Make sure you are setting it in the profile your machine is using. For example, if you set disable GPU work in the Default profile but your machine is using Work, you will have the same problem.

It's a project preference, in this case a Seti project preference at https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/prefs.php?subset=project

Edit, uncheck the use of whichever GPU brand you have, or all. Save changes to the website.
The next time BOINC contacts the project it'll get those preferences.

Any work for the GPU still in cache has to be done or aborted.

Thanks a lot, I haven't found this page until now. So far I have only searched on the Boinc page. Routine-blinded? Well possible.

BOINC is only the managing program. Each project has its own website. You can get to those websites either by clicking on their links from https://boinc.berkeley.edu/projects.php, or within BOINC Manager, via the Project web pages button / Projects tab (depending on simple or advanced view)

Each project has its own independent project preferences. Only computation preferences are global and shared between projects.
