It's not that we don't know, it's just that there's no detection in place yet whether we can cope with that many GUI RPCs per second and make mention of that: "Sorry, overloaded on GUI RPCs at the moment, ask for a clean cc_config.xml at a convenient forum"

It's bad programming to leave the end of a decision tree undefined.

Hear, hear.

I did my last formal computer training 45 years ago (and computers were different then). But it was computer science training, not computer programming: understanding the background to the way different programming languages were designed, and how and why they differed.

But even I can work out the truth of that statement.

This is somewhat related.

There are programs out there (I'm one of them) that have crashed, corrupted or interrupted you (with some to have no way to shut up the program) when you lose or have your internet come back. Some programs crash when your connection doesn't respond fast enough with high ping or slow downloads or uploads. Again It had that happen to me. I hate this at times because it can be random.

BOINC seems to not like a disconnection.
