Good morning,

I was wondering if there is any benefit to creating a separate user account in Windows 10 just for Boince and projects?

Thanks,
Don

No, no...Not that Don. A different Don!

If you plan on using GPU for computing then no. Only the user account that is currently logged in has access to GPUs.

On the other hand, if you are going to do only CPU computing you could install BOINC as a service. In that case BOINC installer will create separate accounts on your behalf.

A separate user account is somewhat more secure in that any programming bugs can't harm any of your personal files.

Few month ago my account dissapeared from boinctats. I thought its a temporary issue but it is still out. However, I continue calculations and my results are sent to boinc. What to do...?

Brgds,

Robert
