My room was cold when I got home from work!

Mac OS 10.12.6 Sierra, BOINC 7.6.34
Log entries seem right.
Tue Dec 5 14:41:13 2017 | | Suspending computation - on batteries
Tue Dec 5 14:41:16 2017 | | Resuming computation

However, it did not resume computation! As soon as I hit the shift key to wake up the screen BOINC started computations, some hours after.

BOINC has leave non-gpu tasks in memory while suspended checked.
Energy Saver says sleep computer after 10 minutes on battery, screen after 2, shutdown system with 2 minutes left on battery. On mains, do not sleep computer, Screen after 10, wake on network, restart after power fail.
Saw no Mac OS log entries re power.

This on 2 different Mac Computers, each with their own UPS.

A PC on Windows 7, logged the power hit and resumed computations.

If you want a developer to take a look at it, you'll have to update to at least 7.8.4, and see if it's reproducible, because the version you use is no longer in development.

I can update, but I'm not sure I can arrange a brush fire to knock out the mains. That might have to wait until the weekend.

Updated to BOINC 7.8.4 same result. Not crunching. Rather obvious when the top of the case that is usually uncomfortably warm is cold to the touch.

Those Macs (in Energy Saver) recognize the UPS?

https://support.apple.com/kb/PH25277?locale=en_US&viewlocale=en_US says for Battery, Power Adapter, and UPS: You see the Battery button only if you have a portable Mac. You see the UPS button only if your Mac is connected to an uninterruptible power source.

So are these portables or desktops?

Desktops. Shows the UPS button. Charge indicator on the menu bar. (And it worked correctly under Lion on both machines)
Specifically they are iMac (27-inch, Late 2012), and iMac (27-inch, Mid 2011)
