Hello,

I do not get any VM Task from e.g. lhcdev and don't see why. VirtualBox is properly detected.
Is there some config entry to allow/forbid VM tasks?

Here the startup log:

No, that's the message from DENIS.

His messages for that project are:
03.10.2017 12:30:09 | lhcathome-dev | update requested by user
03.10.2017 12:30:31 | lhcathome-dev | Sending scheduler request: Requested by user.

03.10.2017 12:30:32 | lhcathome-dev | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
03.10.2017 12:30:32 | lhcathome-dev | No tasks sent

Why that that is, I don't know. Might be a REC thing, where other projects have more priority to get new work.
Or perhaps the project is out of work, but that's best asked at the project.

You can get the 'priority' messages by enabling the <code>cpu_sched_debug</code> or <code>sched_op_debug</code> flags. I forget which exactly.
sched_op_debug will at least show how much work is asked and for which resource.

It requests workm but did not get any task, while my Linux box gets some.

I have the feeling, that the VBox version is too new or not recognized by the server.

Just a quick sanity check...

1) VT-X is enabled in the Bios ?
2) The tag <p_vm_extensions_disabled> (if present) isn't set to 1 in cc_config.xml ?

1) Can I check this without going into the BIOS? I lost the BIOS password. But this might be a good reason.
2) is not set.

https://help.getpassages.com/customer/portal/articles/1902554 shows how to check that in VirtualBox itself.

Ok, thanks.
Taskmanager shows Virtualization: Disabled :(

So I have to find out how to get into the Bios.

Would be good if BOINC could tell a bit more in the message box about it.

I didn't set the bios password. It is an old laptop from my company, so I have to ask there.

Not even one VM task was downloaded.
I assumer that BOINC checks if virtualisation is enabled or not and either do not send VBox capabilities to the server or sends to the server that virtualisation is disabled.
In both cases the server doesn't send any VM task.

After enabling the flag in Bios, do have to do something additional to let Boinc fetch VM tasks?

VT-x is enabled in bios now, also shown in taskmanager and CPU-z, but I still do not get VM tasks.
And from https://sourcefinder.theskynet.org/duchamp/ project I get

Working now !!!!

I found
    <p_vm_extensions_disabled>1</p_vm_extensions_disabled>

in client_state.xml. So Boinc shoutdown and removal of this line and Boinc restart.
Now VM's are downloaded.

Entries in client_state.xml are from BOINC itself.
So question is if and when BOINC rechecks it.
