I cannot connect with any of the Project Web Pages, after BOINC ver. 7.8.2 (x64) was installed. My system is Windows 7, on a DELL Latitude E7240. Access is only via my ESP (EarthLink), and http route (Google). No difficulties have been encountered in downloading/running the WU's of various projects, however. |

Sounds like a firewall problem, or anti virus stopping things in their tracks. Do you still have the problem? Jord Please do not private message me for tech support. Use the forums for that. Tech PMs will be ignored. quote: "Isn't the best defense always a good attack?" |

Loss of access is still a problem, Ageless. I've tried temporarily disabling Norton 360 firewall, and Malwarebytes, with no access. Uninstalling/reinstalling BOINC has not improved things, either. I can live with this, for the while, certainly, until the problem is solved. |

The problem has been solved, Ageless. The default web browser, Internet Explorer, had lost its "default" status. I could still access the internet by clicking on the Internet Explorer icon, and access internet, via my ISP, EarthLink. My discovery was accidentally provided by Norton 360. When I clicked "Check for New Version", a window notified that that was not possible; no default browser was found. I then went and reset it as the default browser. I don't, yet, know why it lost its status, but will continue to investigate. Cheers, |
