I have Boinc installed on a few computers for a few years now, but I don't think I've ever used the forum.

So now I have registered, to be able to write in the forum.

But in the account it says I'm a Boinc user as of today and I have no points, while this is absolutely not so:

Did I automatically already have a login for the forum? Can I link the accounts?

What to do?

This forum has nothing to do with any Boinc project & their forums, it's a standalone forum.

If I click on "My Account" at the top of this page, I get this:

At the bottom half, I get my Boinc points total and average points.
Also links to the statistic webpages.

So it should be possible to links the forum account with my boinc account via the Cross-Project ID. But how?

What you see here, is just like if you were at a project's page. There is no global BOINC login or account. The CPID is not a login and only has to do with your stats. If your CPID gets out of sync then you won't be able to see all your projects stats in one shot at a site like Free-DC or BOINCStats.

Provided of course your info (particularly your user name) is the same across all projects, your CPID will eventually sync up. You will however have to (the easiest method) have one system with all the projects you are participating in attached although each project does NOT have to be crunching work. Your CPID generally stays the same, but it is not a static value. If you change the info or logins in multiple projects it may change and it may not. If they get out of sync, they should line up again within a couple of days. If not, make sure your info is exactly the same, especially your user name.

Stats systems be case sensitive, so if Rob here had sekeRob at some projects and SekeRob at others, the stats systems will treat those as 2 separate entities. Much to Rob's regret, actual cloning isn't that easy...

Note that your BOINC manager doesn't have this issue as it's connected to your projects directly... :)
