I did the fresh install to try to work around the constant unsupported hardware notices from Windows 7

You do know that Microsoft don't support new CPU's on Windows 7. The Ryzen is a new CPU. Microsoft would have you use Win10 or you could use Linux, but make sure it has an up to date kernel (at least 4.9.10).

I have two Ryzen 1700's running Debian. I switched from Windows to Linux. I didn't want to put Win10 on them.
