Yes, compromise, no matter how much progress it makes, no matter how good it is for the country, is now seen as a loss.

Good luck with Brexit without compromise.

Talking about politics, there's a lot of that going around within BOINC as well.

An even better one :-)

ECJ plants a ticking time bomb into the European Parliament

So madam Prime Minister, are you going to deport all those lovely refuges from Calais as your government's actions were unlawful?

Russia bans VPNs and other anonymizers from November 1st, 2017.
China has Apple pull VPN apps from Chinese Apple App Store.

I'm just surprised tRump hasn't done so.

Not sure anyone could ever explain the concept of a VPN to Trump. :-0

Of course all they would need to tell him was that it helped people block his twits tweets and he would ban them straight away.

Cost of crunching to go up by 12.5%

As for tRump & discussing VPN's, one would have a much better debate with him if the topic was VPL's :-)

Jimmy Kimmel said

Sean Spicer’s out, Reince Priebus is out, Trumpcare is dead, and Kim Jong Un has a missile that can reach New York. And weirdly, I don’t feel tired from all the winning yet.

So as I'm sitting in the fast food joint choking down their offering, I'm looking out over the parking lot. Lo and behold there is the drug dealer making his sales. Just brings up the total and complete failure of the war on drugs. I get the feeling every dime that was spent on that was wasted. If someone can make it and someone wants it, no amount of laws or police can stop the transactions, but those laws and police can and do erode our freedom and pick the pocket of the tax payer. The war has just taught a boatload of people how to smuggle and we should be thankful they are smuggling drugs and not terror. But they are available to teach those who would smuggle terror. The police have been taught how to steal with asset forfeiture. We have created the fantasy crime of structuring. And then there is the trash and decay because it all has to be "hidden". Can you imagine if all the waste on the game of trying to evade the police was available to invent something useful?

Nah, double the cops and have everyone report to the piss collection daily, rip the taxpayer off and triple the number of prison cells. Expand government until it is in everyone's business.

That has become the Republican way since Reagan. Lip service to individual freedom when identity politics are involved and the rest of us must toe the line or suffer the consequences.

Bejeebers! Leprechauns could end up scuppering Brexit :-)

There is a simple solution but too many GBED's will only end up breathing flame & brimstone :-)

Extracted from your link, Sir.

"Brexit means that "English nationalists have planted a bomb under the settlement that brought peace to Northern Ireland."

Irish socialist Eamonn McCann said that he estimated a hard border would require 10,000 guards, on which he remarked: "Never mind the cost; that would mean there would be 10,000 sitting ducks along the border."

A simple solution occurs to me also, Mr B. For Gibraltar too. ;-)

So nobody wants a hard border, but we may have to have one, and even if we don't, we will need to create some new form of not-hard, but not-soft border that hasn't actually been invented yet?
Basically, yes.

This doesn't sound good.

It really doesn't.

Just one surprise there - that one of our community is writing copy for MSN ;-))

That's going to hurt.

Political Correctness gone mad?

I agree with Col Kemp: "But I am incredulous as well as surprised. While there must be some aggression in recruit training, what is alleged goes far beyond what is acceptable."

You think that's bad? Have you seen the governments smart meter initiative? Everybody in the country to have one by 2020?

!: They are damned useless.
2: The £11 billion cost will eventually be passed onto us.

Then there is the installation itself. Last Monday on returning home, a neighbour informed me that I had a visit by a very aggressive person & knocked on her house next door asking if I gave her access to my home so they could access the meter cupboard (That was requested in the letter sent out, unfortunately I only received the letter this afternoon & it was dated 01/08 = Well FMG even an Irish navvy isn't that stupid :-) )

To make matters worse, received a text message on Thursday stating that National Grid Smart are in the area to install meters. Please ring this number to book an appointment FFS, that was 10/8, they turned up 07/08.

So being a Paddy, let's see if I got this right....

Engineers turn up 7th
Company states in area 10th
Receive letter from supplier 13th
Letter dated 1st

Ah the "good old British worker" :-)

Good old customer service got told where to shove it this evening, their fault for being available 8am-8pm :-)
