As you will have seen the management here sadly closed the previous version of this subject because of off topic posts and flaming. However when the subject was stuck to it proved entertaining so it is worth bringing it back.

As the OP I am not going to dictate what I will tolerate or not tolerate (unlike some), all conversations generally meander a little bit around a central subject. I will simply request that we try to keep to the general theme, and the Admins of course will enforce the normal posting rules.

To start us off it is being said that the French media are reporting that prince Philip has died at 95!!

The truth is that a short notice staff meeting was held at the Palace this morning, where it was announced that the Duke, who will be 96 this year, will cease royal duties at the end of June. Had a senior Royal died the flag would be at half mast, it wasn't.

You'd think the French would be more interested in their elections than rumours.

Conspiracy theory of my own: the Royal Family deliberately chose to announce this news today because every politician has been banished from the airwaves, and thus can't muscle in on their story.

[There are local elections in much of the UK today, and by law radio and TV are forbidden from broadcasting 'campaign' material while polling stations are open - as they are in most democratic countries around the world. But since no politician can be allowed to see a microphone without immediately grasping it to campaign for, or against, something-or-other, that's suspended General Election broadcasting as well. Phew. We get a day off to enjoy the lovely Yorkshire sunshine.]

Ain't really a conspiricy , more like good old fashioned common sence to make the anouncement about Prince Philip today but bet some polititions would " love " the opotunity to comment and they ain't able to till tomorrow :-) :-) :)

Hi Guys,

Mark has a point, I think at times that there is a fine dividing line between hearsay, gossip, urban myths, and Conspiracies, so I might open the title up a little.

It seems that Prince Philip has apparently been mulling this over for about three months, and would of course have consulted HM and advisors, decision made it was just the timing. But as Richard said the date of the announcement is interesting. I think they slipped it in between the dissolution of Parliament and the General Election, so as not to unduly influence either event.

The State opening of Parliament has been put back to 19th June because of the General Election. so another conspiracy theory for you.

Some observers were quick to note that the timing would allow the Queen to attend Royal Ascot, which runs from June 20th to 24th.
RH is also right about the Electoral Commission rules on polling days, and also we had to stop delivering general local party leaflets last night. Any that were not done had to be binned. From tommorrow it's all official "Electoral Communications" stuff under tight rules upon expenditure.

My own conspiracy theory is the French jumping at any chance to print bad news about Britain, try that one!

Really Chris you have just heard this ???? Been " around " for a few years and fairly mainstream in conspiracy circles , just go to you tube and serch for that group or New world order and there's pages upon pages of stuff about it
Easier just to serch using those words than to post links :-)

When the Bilderbergs next meet at the " Greenbriar Hotel " start cra##ing yourself :-) :-) p.m.s.l

Oi!! I am well aware of that conspiracy, it has been around since 1954. It is just that it has regularly surfaced yet again, and some others may not have seen it. Specifically the comment by Denis Healey.

Denis Healey, a Bilderberg group founder and a steering committee member for 30 years, said, "To say we were striving for a one-world government is exaggerated, but not wholly unfair. Those of us in Bilderberg felt we couldn't go on forever fighting one another for nothing and killing people and rendering millions homeless. So we felt that a single community throughout the world would be a good thing.

Dirk Schulze-Makuch, is a planetary scientist at Technical University of Berlin in Germany.

Innumerable impacts of this scale battered the solar system billions of years ago, potentially blasting biological material between neighboring worlds. On balance, Schulze-Makuch says, “the chances are higher that we are Martians.”
Well there you go folks, no need for Seti any more, we have found ET, it is us !!!

This was posted at Main today

On the issue of Russian saw on the news today a story about Kaspersky total security. Kaspersky is a Russian company. The story suggested that it could be a Russian government plot to infiltrate US computers. So how many of us have used Kaspersky anti-virus? Has this been a scam all along?
My response was

That is one of the urban myths and conspiracy theories going the rounds that has no foundation in truth.

Kaspersky Lab is a Russian multinational cybersecurity and anti-virus provider headquartered in Moscow, Russia and operated by a holding company in the United Kingdom. Kaspersky Lab ranks fourth in the global ranking of antivirus vendors by revenue.

The Kaspersky Global Research and Analysis Team (GReAT) has discovered sophisticated espionage platforms such as Equation Group and the Stuxnet worm. Various covert government-sponsored cyber-espionage efforts were uncovered through their research. Kaspersky also publishes the annual Global IT Security Risks Survey. As of 2014, Kaspersky's research hubs analyze more than 350,000 malware samples per day.

I don't use it myself as I prefer the free ones rather than paying for it.

Now now young Mark :-) Anyone who trusts Putin's Russia has got to be on something, just as much as anyone that thinks the White House numpty is a lovely man. Bait was dangled to see if we could flush out any closet Labour supporters (pun intended).

No I can't say that you are wrong there. But would you not agree that both Putin and Trump are capable of starting WWIII? Putin firing on USA troops in Syria, and Trump firing on North Korea. Both are dangerpus loose cannons and need to go.

The Golden Rule is not to eat any mushroom that is hallucinogenic. But LA citizens know all about drugs, most of 'em still live in the 70's Flower Power era. LA drugs
