Addendum:

"But perhaps what should really make them squirm in their lofty op-ed conferences is the fact that he is doing more than any other modern politician to help them pay their mortgages and feed their families."

Now if that can really work its way down to grass roots level.

Trump travel ban: President attacks 'so political' courts

Trump under fire in Nordstrom Ivanka row

Fearless leader, (as the New Adventures of Queen Victoria calls Trump), is starting to get into his stride.

All Americans, if you haven't yet, please go sign: America first, make Netherlands second because they requested it!
The Netherlands has requested, within the scope of the new America first initiatives, to be simply: second. They don't want us to forget about them. So the White House should give them a call. 2nd place is open, and they asked nicely before anyone else. We'll make them great too. We can do it.

Of course, because of the video from one of our comedians.

From Poll: Trump's approval rating sinks to record low after second week in office:
Gallup, a polling center that has tracked the job approval of every president since Dwight D. Eisenhower, reports that 42 percent of Americans approve of the job Trump has done so far, a new low for any president after two weeks in office.

Trump's disapproval rating is now at 53 percent.

For comparison, former President Barack Obama's approval rating during his second week in office was 65 percent, while George W. Bush enjoyed a rating in the mid to high fifties in early 2001.

America's President needs a new war for his popularity to soar. Of course, all the nitwits he has surrounded himself with don't exactly help.
And then there's other Republicans ruffling their feathers
Rep. Maxine Waters told MSNBC’s Katy Tur Thursday that she doesn’t “intend” for President Donald Trump to remain in office “for four years.”

Ah, swoon.

Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly said Tuesday that visa applicants may be asked to hand over their passwords for their social media accounts by U.S. embassies.

Kelly said the move could be part of the Trump administration’s extreme vetting effort for visitors from the seven Muslim-majority nations which has been the source of controversy since Trump’s executive order took effect.

"We may want to get on their social media, with passwords. It's very hard to truly vet these people in these countries, the seven countries. But if they come in, we want to say, what websites do they visit, and give us your passwords. So we can see what they do on the internet,” he added.

Kelly said anyone who refused to cooperate would be barred from entering the U.S.

Try that with any American going abroad and you'll have threats of WWIII and IV on your hands.

Well, ask POTUS for his before he makes a state visit, and his e-mail accounts too!

Want to know what the EU is about (& politics for that matter)?

Grab a copy of the best researched book I've seen to date.

The Great Deception

Just starting on chapter 8. The scariest issue? Politicians count for nothing, it's for bureaucrats only - pen pushers with no real world experience telling all to do what we say, not what we do :-(

The first crack in the system, or just an alternative truth?
Michael Flynn: Trump's national security adviser quits

Donald Trump's national security adviser Michael Flynn has resigned over his contacts with Russia, the White House has announced.

Mr Flynn is alleged to have discussed US sanctions with the Russian ambassador before Mr Trump took office.

He is said to have misled officials about the conversation.

Earlier, US media reported that the Justice Department had warned the White House about the contacts late last month.

They said that Mr Flynn might be vulnerable to Russian blackmail.

Senior Democrats had called for Mr Flynn to be fired.

It is illegal for private citizens to conduct US diplomacy, and the calls happened late last year before Mr Flynn was appointed to the administration.

Telegraph contributors indeed research to the highest standards of confirmation bias, Sir, do they not. Enjoy! ;-)
Does the book contain Booker's recommendations to breathe in asbestos between mouthfuls of mad cow, whilst championing paedophiles and Intelligent Design too?

So you're saying that Hansard, HMSO, EU archives, gov.uk archives, etc etc etc are all a pack of lies?

Is the book available to you on that lonely Spanish bit of rock?

If so, have you perhaps read it?

U.S. Govt Spends 3 Million Dollars To Find Out If People Can Smell Asparagus In Pee

Government-funded researchers sought to discover why some humans can smell asparagus in urine, and others can’t.

The National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health awarded Harvard University two grants totaling $3 million last year for a survey of nearly 7,000 men and women. The participants were asked to sniff their urine to detect “asparagus pee,” the Washington Free Beacon reports.

When a journalist uses their newspaper column to drivel blatant falsehoods at the British public about EU rules asserting the burial of dead pets can only be done after pressure cooking them at 130 degrees C, Sir - I become wary of wasting any more of my time on them. Perhaps, when I retire, I will return to my previous profession and investigate what percentage of The Great Deception is indeed deception, and who by. ;-) It would not, I assure you, incur even one pound in proven libel cases against and retractions by the publishing newspapers these two authors have in their careers.

I'm not well and I'm grumpy and I can't sleep so I thought I'd pop in and have a look at how things have developed and well...

Failed Italian Communist a Father of the EU

Who called him that? My knowledge on this isn't extensive, Sirius, I admit, but as far as I know, wasn't the Italian Communist party the only real opposition to Mussolini's National Fascists? It would rather mean I would have been likely to be one too I expect :) [edit: a communist I mean, not a fascist :)] A Bruges group link I came across describes Spinelli as a "lifelong communist" yet as far as I know he renounced communism (whilst he was a political prisoner of Benito) due to Stalin's decidedly iffy practises.

Is that what is meant by the "failed" part? I'd have opted for former there I think, but then I haven't read the book, and you have :)

Monnet - The Mother of the EU

Who called him that? The link definitely indicates he's a man. He even looks like one :) Is that a grievance, or is there more to it?

That a few people had a good idea which was not properly implemented (that stood a chance of protecting Europe from its periodic rashes of fascism and war), at about the same time as Keynes's concept of the bankor got scuppered (by the USA wanting the dollar to reign supreme) and a degraded corruption allowed to flourish in its place (IMF etc) might be partly to blame for why we're where we are today. I get very good ideas too :) I even manage to convince others that they are, not by exercising undue influence, or bullying them, but by reasoned argument. They don't always work out well, I admit ;)

I haven't read the book, but I did read one by the same authors (I think) years ago (about global warming). It was lent to me by a friend who I've since discovered believes the earth is flat :) but that's beside the point. I was more than a little put out to discover a paper trail leading back to some of the world's worst polluters. I can't remember which one of the two writers it was now. I should go and look it up I suppose, but I want to get better :)

I'm sure it's an interesting read, it may even be a good one, but I'd rather not spend any money on it to be honest... a visit to the library would be necessary I think ;)

another edit: I can't talk about Trump at the moment - my eyes keep falling out and bouncing around on the keyboard when I try. I'm sure I'll get a grip on them... eventually.

Senate Republicans are trying to pass legislation that would make it legal for mentally ill people to buy guns. Republicans said, “Mentally ill people have a right to one gun for each of the voices in their head.”

This is the way Amerika is rolling these days. You folks think you have problems in Europe?
