Whats you think about P2P (like torrent) connections in BOINC client? Projects like rosetta@home massively download 300 and more Mbytes databases at 60 Kbytes/sec. It's too slow!!! Can BOINC client speedup download process?

Some years ago there was talk of BOINC distributed or something like that, but think it beached.

Recently installed something called XDM on Linux. Any download [through the web browser] is somehow multi-threaded and thus comes in much faster, up to 5 times. It's of course the question if in your case Rosetta could handle multiple-thread feeding to get the big files out.
