Boinc client on Fedora can not connect to local host.

Actually, it's usually the other way around... the BOINC Manager cannot connect to the BOINC client/daemon. Check in Top if a process is running by the name of boinc.

I think what Kanyo means is that the manager can not connect to the Client on localhost. This is a recurring problem on Fedora and other Red Hat based distributions. Because of the permission settings for the BOINC directory the Manager cannot open the passwort file of the Client. The workaround is to clear the file so there is no password ad then the Manager should be able to connect.

The password file being gui_rpc_auth.cfg.
