I am getting this message under seti@home in Boinc "gui_rpc_auth.cfg is empty - no GUI RPC password protection" Never seen this on my Windows boxes. Running LinuxMint 17.3 | Starting BOINC client version 7.2.42 for i686-pc-linux-gnu Any Idea as to what this is? Seems to be the normal on Linux installs to not preload the password file with some 32 character hex value. In fact, I've never been able to connect the BOINC manager to the client when manually adding a PW under Ubuntu, i.e there will be a reason. Coelum Non Animum Mutant, Qui Trans Mare Currunt |

In Debian/Ubuntu the BOINC manager is set up to not require password when connecting to the local client on that host. I think this may not be true for other distros. If you have defined a gui_rpc_auth.cfg password i seem to recall reading it needs a new line, i find it does work when connecting remotely. |
